USA, Basquiat started by tagging the streets with fellow schoolmate Al Diaz as the duo SAMO.  He soon was making collage and Brut Art postcards and selling them for $1 on the streets of NYC when he met Andy Warhol. The rest as they say is history. He reached the echelons of the art world and sadly left us too soon. His work continues to gain followers and his recent artwork sale at auction set a world record for the most expensive artwork to ever be sold by an American artist.
