Amazing double sided Original Artwork by Al Diaz.
Al Diaz is also famous for being the other half of 70’s- 80’s SAMO© duo with Jean Michel Basquiat.
One side has thought provoking text by Diaz- WE AWAIT A NEW TIME.
Other side is hand illustrated with quote by Diaz, “SAMO©… AS AN END TO DELIBERATE SPONTANEITY” which the artist added in 2016.
Signed on bottom right of we await side with AL DIAZ NYC 2015.
The We Await side is made with tile board and cut alphabets reminiscent of the Wet Paint signs found in NYC subways reworked by Diaz.
Artist has self framed this work in aluminum frame similar style framing as found on ad message boards in NYC subway also.
This original mixed media artwork is based on the anagram messages Diaz was pasting in NYC subways graffiti style around the time this artwork was produced.
Framed with plexiglass and aluminum without hanging hardware.
We recommend having this original artwork professionally framed with archival materials over current artist frame to keep the look artist intended.
